SeedLink vs Distru: an engagement layer on METRC, not an ERP

Distru describes itself as an ERP for cannabis operators, with DistruCommerce as its B2B ordering storefront. SeedLink is a different kind of product: a live METRC-synced wholesale menu with one private link per dispensary, whose job is to record which buyer is paying attention to which product before the order arrives. This page says what each one does in its own terms, what each does not, and when a Rhode Island cultivator would want one, the other, or both.

What Distru is, in its own description

On its public site (read March 2026), Distru describes itself as an ERP for cannabis operators: inventory, order management, invoicing and accounts receivable, compliance reporting, and a METRC integration, in one system. DistruCommerce is described as its B2B storefront, where licensed retailers browse a brand’s catalog and place orders through Distru accounts. Delivery routing and an accounting integration are described as part of the platform.

That is an operations product, and its analytics are operational: what sold, what is owed, what is in stock. Nothing on its public site, as read, describes recording which buyer opened a menu or what they looked at.

What SeedLink is, and is not

SeedLink is wholesale menu software for licensed cultivators. It reads a cultivator’s live inventory from METRC, turns it into a wholesale menu with one private link per dispensary, and records what each buyer does with that link: the open, the products viewed, what went into the cart and in what quantity, and the order. From an order it creates the METRC child packages on adult-use tags, the transfer template, and the emailed invoice; the cultivator dispatches in METRC Connect, as the state requires.

SeedLink is not an ERP and does not try to be one. It keeps no books, syncs no accounting system, plans no delivery routes, runs no team chat and hosts no public marketplace. A buyer never creates an account: the link is the identity. Rhode Island is the live market; Massachusetts works by request because METRC there behaves the same way.

Choose Distru when

  • You run more than one facility and want accounting, receivables and reporting in the same system as inventory.
  • You sell into markets where your buyers already order through DistruCommerce.
  • You run a delivery fleet and want routing inside the tool.

Choose SeedLink when

  • You sell to a known set of dispensaries and want to know who is paying attention before you pick up the phone.
  • You want the METRC packaging and the transfer template to fall out of the order instead of being rebuilt by hand.
  • You want a buyer to open a link, not create an account.

Using both

Nothing prevents running SeedLink beside an ERP. METRC is the source of truth for both, so inventory is never entered twice: the ERP keeps the books, and SeedLink keeps the record of who is looking.

Questions

Is SeedLink a Distru alternative?
For the buyer-facing menu and the order-to-manifest step, yes. For accounting, receivables and routing, no. SeedLink is an engagement layer on METRC, not an ERP.
Does SeedLink do accounting or sync to an accounting system?
No. Invoices are emailed as PDFs and the books stay wherever they are.
Does SeedLink connect to METRC?
Yes. Inventory is read from METRC, and an order becomes METRC child packages and a transfer template that the cultivator dispatches in METRC Connect.
Can I use SeedLink and Distru together?
Nothing prevents it. METRC is the shared source of truth, so nothing is entered twice.
Does SeedLink have a marketplace?
No. Each dispensary gets its own private link from the cultivator. There is no public catalog and no buyer discovery.
What does SeedLink cost, and what does Distru cost?
SeedLink pricing is quoted on request; there is no public price list. No figure is quoted for Distru here either, because prices change and a stale one misleads.
Where does SeedLink operate?
Rhode Island today. Massachusetts by request, since METRC there behaves the same way.

How this page was written

Every statement about Distru is taken from its own public website, distru.com, as read on March 15, 2026; where that site does not describe a capability, the table says so rather than claiming its absence. Statements about SeedLink are from its own product. No price is quoted for either, because prices change. The methodology page covers what SeedLink publishes and what it does not.
